Winter Survival Skills
-in Albert Lea, MN & Winona, MN

An often forgotten and feared time in the world of wilderness survival, winter presents extra challenges and opportunities. Just as in any other situation, when considering meeting your basic needs, there is no set in stone model. Training our bodies and brains to prioritize which needs to seek out first while staying calm and positive is still the main goal whether it's winter or not.

Come along on this trapping, shelter building, possibly life saving trip.

The Experience:
  • Choose a site for and build winter survival shelters.
  • Make fire multiple ways including tinder bundles and even fire-by-ice!
  • Practice the enjoyable art of winter tracking.
  • Find wild food and medicine even in the winter.
  • Primitive ice fishing techniques.
  • Ice Safety.
  • Learn and practice other safety considerations that winter brings such as snow blindness.
  • Have fun...make snowmen and play winter games.
