Spring Wild Edible Plant Class
Foraging the Spring Bounty of the Driftless area

In this class you'll learn the basics of foraging and some ways to continue your journey in the world of foraging. We'll also head out to various wild spaces to identify, harvest and taste a variety of wild edible foods. 
  • We will meet at the Jaycees Pavilion in Winona and depart from there to various sites.
  • All Ages (under 18 participants must be accompanied by a registered adult)
  • Classes run from 5:30 p.m. to approx. 7:30 p.m.

The Experience:
  • Identify, Harvest and Process wild edible foods. 
  • Taste test the wild edible foods we harvest.
  • Learn about the Ethics involved with harvesting wild plants for food.
  • Gain the knowledge to forage wild foods free of toxins, contaminants, and other safety considerations.
  • Learn to use and build primitive tools used to increase your efficiency in harvesting wild foods.
